CALL FOR ENTRIES '08-'09

CALL FOR ENTRIES is an annual juried exhibition open to all visual artists living and/or working within Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties. This program is designed to encourage artists from the local community to present new work in relation to the alternative arts context of CAF. Three to five artists will be selected to receive an honorarium and exhibit in a group exhibition held at CAF in 2009.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of jurors made up of artists and art professionals currently working in the visual arts field.  This year’s panel will include: Eric Beltz, Santa Barbara-based artist; Bill Kelley Jr., Los Angeles-based independent curator and critic; Lucia Sanroman, Assistant Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; and Bennett Simpson, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles.

Download the application for detailed information on how to apply:

Materials must be received at CAF’s office by 5 PM on Friday, September 26, 2008 (this is not a postmark date). Hand deliveries will be accepted.

Applicants will be notified no later than Friday, November 7, 2008. Please do not call or email CAF before this date

Stop by CAF in November to see an exhibition featuring last year's selected artists.
