Call For Entries

RULES & ELIGIBILITY

About the Program
Call For Entries (CFE) is an annual juried exhibition that encourages artists from the local community to produce newly commissioned work.

Eligibility Guidelines
CFE is open to visual artists of all mediums currently living and/or working in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Counties. Applicants may not be closely affiliated with CAF or have participated in a past CFE exhibition.

Review Process & Selection Criteria
Three to six artists will be selected by a panel of jurors made up of artists and art professionals to exhibit new work in a group exhibition held at CAF in 2011. This year’s panel includes: TBD. All submittals are individually evaluated based on the artistic and creative strength of the recent (last five years) work.

Submission Deadline
Completed application and fee must be submitted online by Friday, October 8, 2010 at 5 pm.

Notification
Selected applicants will be posted on the CFE webpage on TBD

What you need to complete the application:
Please prepare your materials before submitting your application as you will not be able to edit your application. Text will not retain bold or italics, so please prepare your documents accordingly before pasting in the information

  1. Contact information
  2. Supplemental materials:
    1. 5 jpgs, 72 dpi no larger than 600 pixels in either height or width ( 60 k on disk), of recent (last five years) work. Each file must be correctly oriented and clearly labeled with title, date, medium, and dimensions, as well as a short description (60 words or less) about the work.
    2. or 1 YouTube link - If you are a video or performance artist, you may submit a YouTube link instead. The committee will review up to a three minute video. Please edit your video down to the 3 minutes you want the jury to review before uploading it to YouTube.
  3. Current artist resume
  4. Artist Statement: A brief statement about your work as a whole (200 words or less)
  5. Application Fee: Once you fill out the application you will be brought to a thank you page. There, you may edit your application and will need to pay your application fee before we will receive your application.
    1. $20 CAF Members – Thank you!
    2. $35 Non-members
    3. $0 NEW MEMBER - If you are not currently a CAF member (email vvelazquez@sbcaf.org to find out if your membership is current), your application fee will be waived by joining at any membership level here. Begin experiencing our great member benefits today!
